About our Classes

Autumn Term; 9th/10th and 11th of September to 9th/10th and 11th of December (excluding 28th/29th and 30th of October for half term)

Spring Term; 6th/7th and 8th of January to 24th/25th and 26th of March (excluding 24th/25th and 26th of February for half term).

‘Stage Starters’ age 4-6

Our youngest group attend weekly for 1.5 hours at the following time and venues:

  • Thursday @ Naunton Park Primary School 4pm to 5.30pm
  • Friday @ Belmont School 4pm to 5.30pm
  • Friday @ Sir Thomas Rich’s Grammar School 4.30pm to 6pm.
  • Saturday @ Bournside School 9.30am to 11am

We find the perfect balance between having loads of fun whilst learning new skills and techniques in dance, drama, singing and learning new routines and pieces for whichever performance they have coming up. Our ‘Stage Starters’ perform their own large scale show every Christmas in a large theatre. Parents are surprised at what we achieve with this age group in these shows. Group sizes are small and written reports are given every summer term.

‘UPPER SCHOOL’ ages 6-14

Our ‘Upper Schools’ operate on the following days and times:

  • Thursday @ Naunton Park Primary 4.30pm to 7.30pm
  • Friday @ Belmont School 4.30pm to 7.30pm
  • Friday @ Sir Thomas Rich’s Grammar School 4.30pm to 7.30pm
  • Saturday @ Bournside School 10am to 1pm

Children of all abilities are welcome to our ‘Upper School’ where the shows and performances step up another level from ‘Stage Starters’. Read our ‘About’ section to hear more about what we offer. The ‘Upper School’ attend for 3 hours weekly where children rotate around the dance, drama, singing teachers with a 10 minute food break in the middle. We take a register at the start all together and then divide off into the 3 different age groups of 17 children.
Written reports are given every summer term.

'STAGE ACADEMY’ ages 14+

From September our ‘Elite Academy’ for age 14+ is open to existing ‘My Stage School’ students who have trained with us for more than a year and by audition for new students.

 The classes would involve:

-Working on more mature musicals
-Industry training from scriptwriting, directing, stage makeup, audition technique, college entry prep (finding out the most suitable college route for the individual and helping with the best route/ prep and applications)
-An associate programme where the students are taught how to teach! We would take them over to the main school regularly to warm up the younger students and to teach them how to work with younger children. This would be invaluable because as professionals later in life you would have the ability to be able to earn money by teaching in your spare time.
-Potential for paid job openings at ‘My Stage School’ further down the line or if students leave Gloucestershire we have access to teaching positions nationwide we can put students in contact with.
-Industry professional workshops
-Annual musicals
– West End performances
– Elite performances for audiences when we hold our Upper School shows to show the standard of our Acadamy School
