Ellie Marsden – Principal

Ellie grew up in Minchinhampton and then moved to Cheltenham spending all of her days engulfed in the performing arts. Ellie landed her first professional role at the age of 9 when she played Brigitta in ‘The Sound Of Music’ at the Everyman Theatre. After completing her A-levels Ellie went to stage school in London at the prestigious London Studio Centre to study Theatre Dance and then to Middlesex University to study performing arts. After graduating, Ellie successfully auditioned for girl band ‘TULA’ and toured London and the the rest of the UK gigging. In addition Ellie sang with the 80’s band ‘Modern Romance’. At that time Ellie taught for many theatre schools and found a room full of children the most natural thing to her. She felt really at home whilst also feeling a huge sense of pride in what she was doing, wanting to ‘wow’ parents!
Ellie enjoyed it so much she went onto buy 2 theatre arts franchise schools in London at the tender age of 23! Ellie then opened and filled a further three schools within three years expanding the franchise from the original 150 to 360 and becoming one of the largest branches globally. With Ellie’s contacts in the industry, she trains students and sends them for auditions for west end, film and TV. Ellie has had many successes including some of the largest west end roles around. To name a few (all west end): every child part in the ‘Sound Of Music’ including tour, several roles in ‘Oliver’ including Dodger, Bruce and Lavender in ‘Matilda’, Debbie, Small Boy, Tall Boy and Ballet girls in ‘Billy Elliot’, Cosette in ‘Les Miserable’, Young Fiona in ‘Shrek’, Gemima in ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ tour, Augustus Gloop and Violet Beauregarde in first ever cast of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, young Nala in ‘Lion King’, roles in ‘Miss Saigon’ and ‘Carousel’ to name a few.
Ellie is hugely proud of everything we are achieving at ‘My Stage School’ now with over 350 students. We dream big and strive to achieve amazing things.
